Diplomas

SENIOR NOTES:  Be careful if you revised your schedule for either first or second semester in lieu of the following graduation requirements:

  1. Core 40 is a default diploma – ALL students must have 8 credits in English, 6 credits in science, 6 credits in math, six credits in social studies, 2 credits in PE, and one credit in health (with a strong recommendation of 2 years of a foreign language).
  2. Indiana Academic Honors Diploma requirements: overall GPA of 3.0 or higher and no grade less than a C, minimum of three years of a foreign language, 2 fine arts credits, 8 math credits (including pre-calculus), and a total of at least 47 credits. In addition, students must fulfill one of the following: 2 AP courses with corresponding exams, or 2 dual credit courses, or a combination of 1 AP course and 1 dual credit course, or score 1200 or higher on SAT or have an ACT composite score of 26 or higher.
  3. Keep in mind, colleges and universities have their own admissions standards as well – for example, many schools require two years of the same foreign language. It is the student’s responsibility to check with prospective colleges and universities to learn about specific requirements.
  4. NCAA Division I and II schools – In order to participate in athletics at the college level, students MUST register with the Clearinghouse at http://www.eligibilitycenter.org

ALTHOUGH CROWN POINT HIGH SCHOOL SUPPORTS AND ENCOURAGES STUDENTS IN EVERY WAY, IT IS THE ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH STUDENT TO STAY ON TRACK WITH GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS AND COLLEGE ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS. UPDATED INFORMATION IS CONTINUALLY PROVIDED ON OUR WEBSITE, AND IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO STAY INFORMED.
